The former vice-president of the Madrid Assembly and spokesperson for the PSOE in the commission of inquiry which tried to shed light on the “tamayazo”, Modesto Nolla (69), has died. This is how the party regretted it on social networks where it underlined … this “good socialist” from Ciudad Lineal and sent a hug to his family and friends.
Nolla was a PSOE deputy in the Vallecas Chamber for more than 25 years, entering for the first time in 1995 the list led by Joaquín Leguina, who failed to revalidate the absolute majority and ceded the regional presidency to Alberto Ruiz-Gallardón. The last legislature in which Nolla was included on the list was in 2019 under number 27 of Ángel Gabilondo.
As part of his parliamentary work, he was spokesperson for the commission of inquiry into the ‘tamayazo’ for which Rafael Simancas (PSOE) was not sworn in as regional president in 2003, when two of his deputies did not participate in the vote. The elections would be repeated in October of the same year, with the absolute victory of Esperanza Aguirre (PP).

His work in the field of housing has also been highlighted by complaints regarding alleged irregularities in IVIMA promotions or for the presidency of the commission of inquiry on Avalmadrid in 2019.
