A series of thefts were recorded in Asa Norte (DF) of Brasilia, between November and December last year. The action draws attention to the audacity of the criminals. In one case, a thief appears to be involved in at least three different crimes.
According to data from the Secretariat of Public Security of the DF (SSP-DF), Plano Piloto recorded 2,124 vehicle thefts in 2025.

In the first disc, he and an accomplice steal items from a red car; in the second, he tries to open the door of a white vehicle, forces entry and gives up after failing to unlock it; in the third, place items in a shopping cart and leave the area.
The series of thefts has led to increased patrols by the Federal District Military Police (PMDF). Residents began sending in more videos and reports, which led to the identification of the suspect – who appears limping in the footage after being injured during one of the crimes, which coincides with security camera recordings.
The man identified by the PM was located, but as he was not caught in the act at the time of the approach, he was charged as a known perpetrator, a procedure which allows him to be released while the process is completed. He lives on the street, like other people who have camped nearby, according to a resident who preferred to remain anonymous.

Professions
At least four establishments located in blocks 103/104 and 403/404 were the targets of thefts or burglaries during the end of the year. Throughout 2025, at least 2,933 property crimes, including thefts, break-ins and serial thefts from commercial buildings, were recorded with the PCDF.
According to the owners, the thieves follow a pattern: they steal the same materials; even operating mode; and in very close places. Equipment supported at the above establishments includes external wiring and piping, lamps and other electrical components.
The owner of one of the establishments said that the place had already been robbed five times and that in the last case there was a loss of around R$5,000. For this reason, the space was needed to increase private security, with more cameras, alarms and online monitoring. She says money spent on beefing up security ends up hindering other investments that could create more jobs.
