The fight against fake news and disinformation has guided some actions of the Electoral Tribunal in recent years and should be no different in the 2026 elections. In an interview with Radio Eldoradopolitical scientist Jaqueline Zulini, of FGV CPDOC, said the use of technology, often inappropriately, increases this challenge. “Fake news has always existed. What has happened is an increase in the production and volume of fake news,” he stressed. According to her, the Superior Electoral Tribunal (TSE) must invest in education to combat disinformation and demonstrate the fairness and security of this year’s elections.
