Who can be a beneficiary of Bolsa Família

Bolsa Família is a federal program that transfers resources to low-income families, with a monthly income of up to R$218 per person.

To access the benefit, you must be registered in the Single Registry (CadÚnico). Registration is done at the social assistance offices of the municipality, upon presentation of the CPF or voter card.

How much does Bolsa Família pay?

All families served by Bolsa Família receive at least R$600 per month. This value may be higher depending on family composition, such as the presence of young children or pregnant women.

• Citizenship Income Benefit: Paid to all family members, up to R$142 per person;
• Additional service: Intended for families whose citizenship income allowance does not reach the minimum value of R$600 per family unit;
• Early childhood benefit: Grants R$150 per child aged 0 to 6;
• Variable family benefit: Pays R$50 per person to families with pregnant women and/or children aged 7 to 12 and/or adolescents aged 12 to 18.

How to access Bolsa Família?

Access to the Bolsa Família depends on the family’s registration with the Cadastro Único. The selection of beneficiaries is carried out automatically by the program, which analyzes monthly those who meet the criteria.

After approval, the responsible family receives a card to use the benefit, which is deposited into a digital social savings account every month, in accordance with the official payment schedule.

To avoid the suspension of aid, it is obligatory to periodically update the information on income and family composition of CadÚnico, at least every two years, with the social assistance services of the municipality.
