According to tradition, the burning of dolls in La Plata was also the focus this morning. The La Plata ritual of farewell to the year and welcome to the beginning was lived with pure celebration in the neighborhoods and to the rhythm of music and fire that engulfed the huge paper and wood sculptures assembled by artists and neighbors.
As every year and in different parts of the city, hundreds of people from La Plata worked to build the emblematic dolls that burned to the delight of the public who came to welcome the New Year. On this occasion, 22 structures were officially registered, but many others that did not have permits also caught fire, following a controversy between the shipowners and the municipality in the previous case.
As every year, between the night of the 31st and the early morning of the 1st, characters from films, comics and cartoons from all eras coexisted with characters relating to notable events in 2025.
Among the outstanding figures this year we find Demogorgon (115 between 95 and 95), “Chiqui” Tapia (124 between 11 and 12 – Berisso), Drako (72 between 16 and 17), La Bubu (524 and 21), La Noche del Terror (64 and 15, Tun Tun and Tralalero (139 to and 477), Avatar, the world of Pandora (31 between 41 and 42), Shadows of the Underworld, among others.
