The return of São Paulo for the 2026 season took place this Friday (2), at CT da Barra Funda, with significant absences and the presence of new names in the main squad. In total, seven players who were part of the main squad last season did not return to work for the new season.
Among the newcomers is midfielder Danielzinho, recruited from Mirassol. The player was even announced by the club and participated normally in activities. Goalkeeper Carlos Coronel, in turn, also visited the CT, underwent medical examinations and got acquainted with the structure of the club. The announcement of the player’s signing by the club is expected to take place in the coming days. It should be remembered that Tricolor made both signings for free.
São Paulo has yet another player lined up for the season, right-back Lucas Ramon, who has signed a pre-contract with the club. The player, however, has a contract with Mirassol until May and will only be able to arrive at Morumbi after this date. Tricolor is negotiating with the São Paulo Interior team to obtain the early release of the athlete.
Oscar absent from the São Paulo re-presentation
On the other hand, midfielder Oscar did not attend the re-presentation. The player is discussing an agreement with São Paulo for an amicable termination. He plans to end his career after fainting during routine exams, again in November 2025, and being diagnosed with vasovagal syncope.
Besides the midfielder, six other athletes who entered the team in 2025 did not return at the start of the season. The club did not have midfielder Luiz Gustavo, goalkeeper Leandro, midfielder Rigoni, striker Dinenno and full-backs Patryck Lanza and Maílton in the day’s activities. The top four were left without contracts, with the club deciding not to renew their contracts. The latter two, in turn, ended up being loaned to Juventude and Fortaleza respectively.
At the same time, four players returned to the under-20 team to compete in the Copinha. Youngsters Nicolas Bosshardt, Pedro Ferreira, Lucca and Paulinho are currently part of the core group. The technical committee intends to reintegrate these athletes into the main team after the tournament.
São Paulo resumes training at CT da Barra Funda on Saturday (3) and will travel to Cotia, where he will concentrate until his debut at Paulistão, against Mirassol, on the 11th (Sunday), away.
