Since 1970, at least 21 fires worldwide have claimed 40 or more lives:
– March 16, 2025, North Macedonia: last tragedy before that of Crans-Montana. A fire caused by fireworks in the “Pulse” in Kocani and the ensuing mass panic killed 63 people, mostly young people. A similar result to Cromañón in Argentina, but on a smaller scale.

– January 1, 2009, Thailand: 66 people celebrating the New Year in a Bangkok nightclub die in one Fire caused by fireworks.
– September 20, 2008, China: 44 dead in nightclub fire in Shenzhen (south) caused by fireworks.
– December 31, 2004, Argentina: 194 people die in it Cro-Magnon where almost 2,000 young people attended the Callejeros concert. The trigger was also a flare.

– February 20, 2003, USA: 100 people die in a nightclub in West Warwick (Rhode Island). The fire was set by pyrotechnic devices.
– December 1, 2002, Venezuela: 65 people die in a gigantic fire at the La Guajira nightclub, located in the basement of an old building in the center of Caracas.
– July 9, 2002, Indonesia: 42 people die in the fire at a karaoke restaurant in Palembang (South Sumatra).
– December 25, 2000, China: A fire destroys a shopping complex and a nightclub in Luoyang (center). 311 people celebrating Christmas die.
