Minister Alexandre de Moraes of the Supreme Federal Court (STF) said that former presidential advisor Filipe Martins had shown a “total lack of respect” for the rules imposed by the Court and democratic institutions by failing to comply with precautionary measures while under house arrest.
The assessment is part of the decision that determined the conversion of the home to preventive detention. The preventive detention was carried out by the Federal Police on Friday morning (2/1), at the home of Filipe Martins, in Ponta Grossa (PR).

In the decision, Moraes highlighted that Martins had expressly violated the restrictions imposed by the STF when using social networks, behavior considered incompatible with the precautionary regime to which he was subject.
For the minister, this conduct constitutes a direct affront to the judicial system and the judicial decisions in force.
“The accused demonstrates a total lack of respect for imposed norms and constitutionally democratic institutions,” Moraes wrote, justifying the need for a more rigorous measure to preserve the authority of the Court’s decisions. Martins was under house arrest.
According to the decision, the use of social networks compromised the objective of the measures imposed, which were aimed precisely at preventing external interference and guaranteeing procedural order.

Moraes also stressed that the possibility of reinstating house arrest was expressly conditioned on strict compliance with the restrictions, which was not the case.
“Coup Minute”
Filipe Martins is under investigation for his alleged participation in the preparation of the so-called “coup plan” and has been convicted in investigations related to anti-democratic acts.
Despite his conviction, he is still awaiting the analysis of the appeals presented by the defense and is not serving a final sentence.
