Venezuelan Defense Minister Padrino López, one of the most politically influential generals at the top of the Venezuelan military, said in a statement that his forces “will not surrender” and will fight “until victory” against U.S. intervention.
“In the unity of the people, we will find the strength to resist and triumph,” he said in a video message.
Apparently, the speech was aimed at countering speculation that the armed forces had abandoned the Maduro regime and turned a blind eye to the US operation.
