Chelsea had already tried to recruit the Brasileirão player, now in Liverpool’s sights.
Liverpool are monitoring the situation of Grêmio attacking midfielder Gabriel Mec. The information comes from journalist Eduardo Moura, from GE.
According to the publication, the English club has been following the 17-year-old for around two seasons and sent representatives to attend Grêmio training this year, in addition to attending Immortal’s draw against Santos, in Vila Belmiro, in Serie A of the Brazilian Championship.
In the match, Gabriel Mec was mentioned, but did not leave the bench.
Previously, Shakhtar Donetsk of Ukraine made a proposal official to Grêmio, offering 15 million euros (R$95.1 million at the time) for the attacking midfielder, but the offer was rejected.
Chelsea, one of Liverpool’s rivals, is expected to submit a proposal soon. The London club had already tried to sign the promise of Grêmio in 2024, when he was 16 years old. At the time, the club presented a proposal to Gabriel Mec, but the negotiations did not progress.
