Neymar is already in Belo Horizonte, where he will have surgery this Monday on the meniscus of his left knee to treat wear and tear in the area.
With a contract with Santos valid until December 31, the striker should recover within a month. The number 10 arrived this Sunday afternoon in the capital of Minas Gerais and will carry out the procedure with doctor Rodrigo Lasmar, a professional who works both for the Brazilian team and for Atlético-MG.
The CBF has been informed of the surgical intervention and is carefully following the entire process involving the player.
Due to the arthroscopic surgery and the time needed for rehabilitation, Neymar is expected to miss Santos’ pre-season. The contract renewal has not yet been announced, but it is expected to be agreed soon.
The Santos team will reappear virtually on December 26 and in person on January 2, with the start of the season scheduled for the 11th, against Novorizontino, at the Campeonato Paulista, in Vila Belmiro. The scenario indicates that Neymar will not be ready to play until early February.
