The entity has activated this yellow alert in the provinces of Segovia, Soria, Burgos, Girona, Lleida, León, Lugo, Asturias, Cantabria and Huesca, which will be on alert due to the risk of snowfall.
According to the agency, dense layers of snow are expected for the morning around the main rivers of the southwest and light snowfall “in the main mountainous areas of the north of the country”. Concretely, it will affect several mountain ranges, such as the Iberian Cordillera of Burgos, the Cantabrian Cordillera of León and Asturias, the Central System of Segovia, the Iberian Cordillera of Soria, the Sierra of Ancares in Galicia and a large part of the Pyrenees, without excluding snow also in neighboring regions.
