The brotherhood of O has a beautiful history, of those who remain in the heart; stories told quietly, which – as they themselves say – are experienced with few repercussions in a society mediated by immediacy, where … Sometimes the priority is given to positions, to occupying positions or to governing, leaving aside the most important: being a believer and being part of a religious institution to help others. And the Brotherhood of O does more than that every day.
One of his brothers is Dario, that since the first months of his life he has been fighting without knowing it. He’s a true warrior. Since his arrival in the world, life has imposed a difficult ordeal on him: fighting against an illness which has marked his evolution and transformed every day into a new challenge. But Dario was never alone. His parents, Ana and Santiago, have always been by his side.or two firm columns that support this battle with unbreakable love.
For a long time, This disease had no name. Everything was uncertainty: tests, silences and waiting. There were only unanswered questions, which outweighed any diagnosis. Until, on March 17, the long-awaited call came; a call that put words into pain and gave shape to the unknown.
A fact that many consider to be written by Providencehas. On the eve of receiving this call, heDario’s parents came to kiss Our Father Jesus Nazareno, celebrated every second weekend of Lent. There they entrusted themselves to the Lord, asking for light, clarity and an answer in the midst of the darkness they were experiencing.
The next day, they received the call that allowed them to know the name of Dario’s illness: Mitochondrial DNA depletion syndrome type 9 (SUCLG 1), an extremely rare pathology, with only two cases diagnosed in all of Spain.
This light is today called hope and is born from ongoing research at the Pablo de Olavide University. (UPO). A project that could bring the treatment Darío needs closer, but what This is a route with high economic costs. It is for this reason that the family starteda solidarity campaign with the sale of bracelets at the symbolic price of 2 euros.
How could it be otherwise, The brotherhood of O did not want to stay away. The same brotherhood in which Darío walks every Good Friday as an altar boy of Nuestro Padre Jesús Nazareno is today taking a step forward for one of their own. Darío is a smile, courage and faith lived since childhood.
SO, the brotherhood wants to add handshearts and wills to realize the greatest wish of Darío and his parents: find a treatment that allows you to enjoy a better quality of life, a dream which is today also that of the brotherhood of O. To achieve this, the corporation makes this solidarity bracelet available to everyone, which can be purchased during the opening hours of the temple. “Together, as a brotherhood, we walk alongside Darío,” they emphasize from the corporation.
Likewise, for people who cannot go to the parish of O, The brotherhood allowed donations to be received on the following bank account: ES54 2100 2620 6502 1071 2380, with the aim that together everyone can carry out this treatment for Darío, the young altar boy of Jesús Nazareno.
