Since Friday, November 14th, we have been in cinemas in Spain Jujutsu Kaisen: Executionthe new film anime based on the successful manga by Gege Akutami, which once again is directed by Shôta Goshozono.
As with Jujutsu Kaisen: Hidden Inventory / Premature Death – The Moviethe film continues to compile the arcs of the anime series that is available in the Crunchyroll catalog.
This time he brings us the rest of the 2nd season of the series, capturing what is considered one of the best manganime arcs, the one known as the Shibuya Incident arc.
The plot shows how curses and curse users devise an elaborate plan with the intention of sealing the powerful sorcerer Satoru Gojo. For this, They unleashed chaos in the famous Shibuya district in the middle of the Halloween celebration, arresting several veiled civilians and creating a massacre in the area..
Yuji Itadori, along with his colleagues and other first-level sorcerers, enter the veil to try to stop their enemies, but things are going to get (very) out of control.
The beginning of the 3rd season of the series is also shown, where the next arc of the manga, The Culling Game, begins. After the events of Shibuya, Yuji feels guilty for having killed several innocent people, although he knows that it was all Sukuna’s doing when he took control of his body for a while.
Due to this (and other factors), Yuji Itadori’s execution was brought forward and he was given the mission to kill Yuta Okkotsuformer student of Satoru Gojo and protagonist of the excellent prequel film Jujutsu Kaisen 0.
A light appetizer to ease the wait Jujutsu Kaisen season 3
Knowing that it would be a film that would cover the end of the 2nd season and the beginning of the next, I understood that the Shibuya Incident arc would not be captured exactly, as it is a quite long saga in which many things happen.
That’s why I thought of following in the footsteps of Kimetsu no Yaiba and their Going to…where the final episode or two and one or two chapters of the current new season are captured directly on the big screen.
However, to my surprise, I found a very abridged version of the Shibuya Incident in which the most important parts of the arc were shown. Although the final part was given a little more scope, in essence they were just loose scenes, so Your thing is to keep the anime updated to enjoy that entire arc in the right conditions..
Only when we enter the next arc does the film really begin, that is, I would say after the first half hour of filming.
That’s when you start to feel real interest in the plot (unless you know what’s going to happen because you’ve already read the manga, of course), and it’s true that although I didn’t know much about it because it’s still the first two episodes of the new season, I found what he shows quite interesting..
Bad? That when the plot really begins is when the film ends, leaving you wanting more after passing the 90 minutes of the film in the blink of an eye.
It won’t be until January 8, 2026 when Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 will begin on Crunchy Roll So, if you really want to continue with the series, I recommend you go to the cinema and see Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution. Furthermore, the excellent animation quality offered by MAPPA and TOHO makes watching the film on the big screen a joy.
Assessment
Observation 79
Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution is an interesting appetizer to calm the wait for the 3rd season of the series, but it ends up knowing little and leaving you wanting more.
The best
Your visual section. The new arc starts off quite interesting.
Worse
The beginning of the new arc is very sparse. The plot of the Shibuya Incident is very brief, they should have dedicated an entire film to it.
