
The Federal Police (PF) launched, this Monday (22/12), another phase of Operation Carcará, in Teresina (PI), with the aim of protecting victims of sexual abuse of children and adolescents. During the action, a suspect was preemptively arrested for planning to kidnap children and adolescents from schools located in the southeast region of the capital, using drugs to facilitate this criminal practice.
The arrest warrant was issued by the 3rd Federal Criminal Court of the Judicial Section of Piauí, after a favorable opinion from the Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office (MPF), and executed by agents of the federal police.

The operation aims to combat crimes involving the storage, production and sharing of digital files containing sexual content involving children and adolescents, committed on the Internet.
The person under investigation may be responsible for the crimes of producing, possessing and sharing material containing sexual violence against children or adolescents, in addition to other crimes that may be identified during investigations.
Working group
In 2025, the Piauí Federal Police carried out a record number of operations aimed at combating the sexual abuse of children and adolescents, with more than 20 actions launched, focused on identifying criminals and rescuing victims.
The PF alerts parents and guardians of the importance of monitoring and guiding children and adolescents in virtual and physical environments, in order to prevent the risk of sexual abuse.
