When José Iglesias, resident of the Madrid neighborhood of La Elipa, contacted the Lottery administration located at number 8 Ricardo Ortiz street, asked the owner, named Estera number, but he put a condition: “It has to end in 2 hours.”
That’s when Ester looked at the numbers she had and saw one that met the requirements. It was 79532. So, without knowing it, I gave José El Gordo for Christmas.
And so, the joy of this Monday arrived. José tells Madrid Total that he was at home “watching the lottery draw on television” when he realized that the number he had bought from his neighborhood administration had the first prize.

“I own one of the 740 shares, but it is a prize that was awarded to the entire association, called Isegoria. We are very happy and we have already spoken among ourselves, congratulating each other,” José Iglesias said in a telephone conversation.
Explain that Isegoria is “a progressive association dedicated to art and culture” So now that they have the prize in their hands, their goal is to “be able to carry out more new cultural art projects, but, now, with more resources.”
Indeed, the aforementioned group is defined on its website as a “independent forum for analysis and critical reflection for a society more democratic, just and egalitarian” and its headquarters is located in the Arganzuela district of Madrid.
On Monday morning, while walking near the premises where Isegoria is headquartered, several neighbors could be heard saying “Have you discovered it? “El Gordo fell into the hands of those in the association.”
But the truth is that this Monday, December 22 will forever be engraved in the memory of Jose Iglesias and the rest of the members of association.
“We are very happy. Now is the time to be calm and celebrate the award with family. Little by little we will see in which projects and how we invest the money.”added this painter from the La Elipa district.
In fact, the number 79532 made this neighborhood administration on Ricardo Ortiz Street famous. Monday morning, Esther could not suppress her joy.
She took over his father, José, retired three years ago and left the administration open to him in 1988.
“I wasn’t very comfortable at the other place I was working at and I told my dad I was leaving him and coming with him, of course. My dad was kind ofhe was a few years away from retiring. Then my husband came with me,” Ester told the media Monday morning.
Ester was visibly moved and even recognized who couldn’t hold back his tears in a few hours which were most special.
“I was serving a customer because on Mondays we have more noise. The press called me and told me. I was very excited. I called my parents and my husband. We sold 16 series of 4 million euros. It’s not a subscriber number, it’s random,” concluded this La Elipa lottery which sold El Gordo de la Navidad for the year 2025.
