According to the fire department, the company was called around 6 a.m. to respond to an accident near Chapeau do Pescador. A video clip of the accident circulated on social media indicates that the man who fell was on the back of the motorcycle at the time of the accident.
The victim was rescued and taken by ambulance in serious condition to the Miguel Coto Municipal Hospital in Javea. In addition to him, the army rescued Marcelo da Silva, 33, and Yosefán Ramos, 29, who were also involved in the accident, with minor injuries.
