A video from the federal government, published on social networks last Sunday (12/21), was seen within the São Paulo government as plagiarism of an advertising campaign carried out by Governor Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans) at the end of the year.
“There is nothing impossible to do in the world, when someone has the courage to do it,” said the PT member during the inauguration of a model of the São Francisco River crossing, at the Palácio do Planalto, held last Thursday (12/18).

The same day, the government of São Paulo organized a ceremony at the Palácio dos Bandeirantes, during which Tarcísio took stock of his administration’s actions in 2025.
For the event, the phrase “courage to do the impossible” was used as the slogan of the state administration, emphasizing the resumption of stopped works and projects.
Sources in the São Paulo government claim to have observed a practice of plagiarism on the part of the federal government.

Disputes
It is not new that Tarcísio and Lula, political opponents who could even face each other in the 2026 elections, are arguing behind the scenes over the “authorship” of the projects carried out together.
Some examples are the actions in the Favela do Moinho, the construction of the Santos-Guarujá tunnel and the resumption of the Rodoanel works.
This Monday (22/12), for example, the president of the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES), Aloizio Mercadante (PT), demanded recognition from the Government of São Paulo for the role played by the bank in the works of the northern section of the Rodoanel. The former minister was booed as he listed the achievements of the Lula administration.
The ceremony took place in the presence of Tarcísio and the Mayor of São Paulo, Ricardo Nunes (MDB).

With a view to 2026, José Dirceu challenges Tarcísio’s “impossible” works
“This plaque here is very beautiful, but BNDES is missing because one third is a BNDES credit. And we need to recognize this partnership to do more things together in the future,” Mercadante said.
According to him, the Union Investment Bank was responsible for financing the work to the tune of 1.3 billion reais. He also recalled that Rodoanel’s name is Mário Covas, former PSDB governor of São Paulo, and praised the “republican relationship” with the former opponent.
“If every president waits for the governor to align with him, or if every governor waits for the mayor, things won’t happen. We need to get the Republican relationship back and work together to build a better country,” Mercadante added.
