The grid for the Brazilian Grand Prix saw a last-minute adjustment in favor of Argentine driver Franco Colapinto and his Alpine driver.
Dutchman Max Verstappen, who finished 16th in the standings, will not take a place on the grid and will start from the pits due to the modifications made by Red Bull to his car, allowing the Argentine driver to advance one place. The Austrian team’s decision to make changes to the car outside of the Parc Ferme system triggers the automatic penalty and forces the Dutchman to start from the pitlane.
Another who suffered the same penalty and will have to start from the pitlane is Frenchman Esteban Ocon with his Haas car, as his car was modified for the race without obtaining permission from the stewards.
Colapinto will then start from 16th place in the 14 Hours of Interlagos, improving on the 18th place he took yesterday.
Therefore, the pilot and Alpine representative will seek to take advantage of this movement at the start and during the competition, on a track that typically generates overtaking options, strategic changes and changing conditions.
