Snow and waves activate warnings this Tuesday in four provinces and in the autonomous city of Melilla, with minimum temperatures in León and Palencia expected to reach -2 ° C, according to forecasts from the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET).
The provinces with snow warnings are in particular Jaén, León and Zamora, with a maximum snow accumulation of 5 centimeters in 24 hours.
The wave warnings are issued in Girona and the autonomous city of Melilla, with waves each three meters high.
The AEMET has forecast cloudy or very cloudy skies this Tuesday, as well as rainfall and showers in large parts of the peninsula, although they are not expected to be heavy, but they could be persistent on the Cantabrian slope. Rainfall is also expected in the southwest, extending into southern Andalusia, Estrecho, Ceuta and Melilla. In addition, in the eastern third of the peninsula, less cloudy skies and less precipitation are expected only in the mountain systems.
The state authority has announced that cloudy periods are expected in the Balearic Islands with uncertainty, accompanied by isolated rainfall, which is more likely in the south of the islands. Meanwhile, heavy and persistent rainfall is expected on the Alborán and Estrecho coasts, which may occasionally be accompanied by storms in Ceuta and Melilla. Likewise, precipitation in the mountain systems is expected to fall in the form of snow, with lower precipitation amounts in the northeastern half, increasing throughout the day.
Cloudy periods are expected in the Canary Islands, without excluding light and isolated rains in the north of the islands with greater relief. Haze and fog are also expected in some valleys inland.
Increases in minimum temperatures are expected mainly in the southwestern quadrant of the peninsula, with the exception of some slight decreases in the valleys of Castilla y León, Bajo Ebro, the Catalan coast and the Balearic Islands. Except in the northeast, maximum temperatures will also increase. Meanwhile, hardly any changes are expected on the Canary Islands.
Likewise, on the peninsula and the Balearic Islands, moderate winds will prevail from the west and northwest, shifting to the north and northwest from midday and may be strong from the west, with very strong gusts on the coasts to the south and southeast of the peninsula and at the end of the Empordà.
In addition, light winds are expected inland from the west and south of the Pyrenees, except in the Ebro Valley. Moderate trade winds blow in the Canary Islands.
