Two squatters installed in a chalet in the La Marina district, the furthest from the urban area of Elche (Alicante), allegedly beat to death this Monday two men of German nationality who tried to evict them from the property and left a third seriously injured. The alleged perpetrators of the crime remain barricaded in the house, surrounded by Civil Guard agents who negotiate with them to surrender. Official sources from the armed institute exclude that the occupants of the house have firearms.
The events took place on Monday around six in the afternoon in an independent chalet located next to the Residencial El Pinet, a coastal area inhabited mainly by foreign residents, next to the Santa Pola salt pans. According to sources close to the investigation, the three victims went to the building with the intention of chasing out the two alleged murderers who occupied it. The situation led to a fight in which two of the Germans were beaten to death and a third ended up in serious condition in a hospital. Sources close to the case confirm that the victims did not work for an eviction company and that the possibility that this was a settling of scores between gangs has for the moment been ruled out.
The blows disrupted the usual tranquility of the Elche neighborhood and a neighbor reportedly alerted the emergency services after hearing the fight and seeing two bodies abandoned on a nearby road. In the house, located in an isolated area, according to official Civil Guard sources, agents from the local police of Elche and the Citizen Security Unit of the Alicante Command (Usecic) were immediately stationed. The system, put in place shortly after the events, continued until late at night and resumed this morning. The objective, confirmed by the Alicante command, is to arrest the two alleged perpetrators of the homicide, who are inside the house.
The Civil Guard While negotiations continue, the investigation into the causes that may have led to the fight is still underway, indicates the Civil Guard.
