Madrid residents can now use the new bicimad-bus virtual ticket which will allow unlimited travel for 90 minutes on the capital’s municipal bus and electric bike network. This new title can be activated via the application EMT Madrid … and Madrid Mobility 360.
This was announced on Thursday by the vice-mayor of Madrid, Inma Sanz, during the press conference following the last government session of Madrid City Hall. The new title, which has just gone through its corresponding trial period, BicibúsEMT, has a price of 1.80 euros for a 90-minute journey. In the case of bicycles, journeys should last up to 30 minutes.
This virtual ticket counts for the 90 minutes established in your rate from the first use detected, whether it is undocking at a bike station or when validating the ticket on board a municipal bus.
The user will be able to use this transport ticket in whatever order they wish and, if they prefer to make two trips exclusively by bicycle, they will be charged the cheapest rate, in this case, one euro.
How to activate it
BicibúsEMT is now available in all applications of the Municipal Transport Company and, to activate it, simply activate the Validate my trip tab in the EMT Madrid application or via the BicibúsEMT card, in the virtual wallet (wallet) of the Madrid Mobility 360 application.
To use it, in the case of a bicycle, you must have an account in the bicimad application and unpin it via the usual systems (QR reading, NFC or manual entry of the license plate), and in the case of a bus, via validation with the QR which appears in “Validate my trip”. The municipal company’s internal system will be responsible for managing the charges in order to always obtain the most economical combination for users.
The precedent of this BicibúsEMT ticket is the TransBUS, the title launched four years ago by EMT Madrid so that users can make unlimited transfers on all municipal bus lines at a price of 1.80 euros and for a duration of 60 minutes, with the exception of the Expré Aeropuerto line.
