Verdão starts the season in fine form in January, faces Brusque in his national debut and welcomes Santos in the Brasileirão opener
Chapecoense starts the year 2026 with a strong pace and with its main recent objective achieved: the return to Serie A. Having secured access under the orders of Gilmar Dal Pozzo, the club from the west of Santa Catarina is now looking towards a season which begins without the possibility of prolonged adjustments.
Chape opens the year at Catarinense against Brusque
Current finalist in the Catarinense Championship, Verdão do Oeste will officially start the new season on January 6, hosting Brusque at the Arena Condá. The match is scheduled for a Tuesday, at 7 p.m. (Brasilia time), and opens the team’s journey in the national competition.
Chapecoense’s second engagement took place five days later. On January 11, the team will travel to Florianópolis to face Camboriú, at the Orlando Scarpelli stadium, from 4 p.m.
From the third round, without official confirmation of dates and times by the Santa Catarina Football Federation (FCF), the entity has already presented projections for the rest of the initial phase.
Projection of the intermediate rounds of the State
The clash against Concórdia, outside Chapecó, is expected to take place in mid-January, with a first forecast for the 14th, at 8:30 p.m., which can be adjusted to the 13th or 15th. In the next round, Verdão returns to the Arena Condá to face Marcílio Dias, in a duel expected for the weekend of January 17 or 18.
Next, Chapecoense returns to the capital of Santa Catarina to face Avaí, this time in Ressacada. The reunion between the finalists of the last edition of Catarinense should take place between the 20th and 22nd, in the middle of the week.
Closing the initial phase, the Alviverde team receives Joinville, still in Chapecó, in a match scheduled for the last weekend of the qualifying phase.
The FCF will define the official calendar in the coming weeks
The Santa Catarina Football Federation has informed that the final dates and times, starting from the third round, will be confirmed soon, depending on logistical and transmission adjustments.
The premiere in Brasileirão will take place in January
In addition to the State Championship, Chapecoense also has a commitment planned for the Brazilian Championship. The Serie A debut is scheduled for January 28, against Santos, at the Arena Condá, in the first round of the national competition.
The early start of the Brasileirão in 2026 is due to changes in the Brazilian football calendar, implemented by the CBF, which make the start of the season even more intense for elite clubs.
