“U.S. Judge Loretta Preska has suspended her own order to investigate oil company YPF’s assets, which could potentially be seized by the state, in litigation for violating the company’s charter at the time of the expropriation.”
“Christmas present for YPF: Preska approves the oil company’s request to suspend the discovery of Alter Ego (search for assets to be confiscated) and at the same time appeals the decision of the same judge who allowed the discovery and prevented YPF from defending itself, considering that the state is doing so in its place. This order does not apply to the discovery of other state assets, which remains in force,” reported Sebastián Maril, a specialist in the case.
