The defense of one of the eight accused in the death of Diego Armando Maradona will file impeachment motions against Judges Maximiliano Savarino and Veronica De Tommaso, the two judges who were with Giulietta McIntashe in the empty debate.
Rodolfo Paquet confirmed: “Friday morning I will submit applications to the Permanent Secretariat of the Jury of Buenos Aires Judges.”
The lawyer is defending nurse Dahiana Gisela Madrid, the only accused who will be tried before popular juries as part of the case investigating the alleged simple murder with possible intent of the Argentine star.
Savarino and Di Tommaso are members of the Oral Criminal Court (TOC) No. 3 of San Isidro, which took over the process of Diego’s death on March 11 and concluded at the end of May for the documentary Justicia Divina. Paquet believes that judicial officials were aware of the audio-visual project that caused the trial to be cancelled.
In addition, people close to McIntasch shared conversations the defendant had with Savarino and Di Tomaso about the documentary. The conversations show that the judges were aware of the presence of cameras that filmed the room from the inside.
