Understanding crime
- The DF Military Police (PMDF) were called, around 2 a.m., Tuesday (23/12), for a possible occurrence of domestic violence. Arriving at the scene, military police found Lidiane lying in the street, already lifeless, and noted that she had been decapitated.
- Residents examined the characteristics of the perpetrator and indicated that he had fled. A few hours later, the military found Leandro at QNM 23, with his clothes and hands still covered in blood, and arrested him in the act.
- According to information from the investigation, during the attack, Lidiane tried to avoid the attack by declaring her love to the attacker. She screamed for her life and shouted, “Baiano, I love you.” But he continued the attacks until he killed her.
- The author had been approached by the PMDF a few hours before the crime with a knife, but was not arrested: he only had the bladed weapon seized and was released after signing a detailed statement of the facts.

The woman decapitated in the DF benefited from a measure of protection against the perpetrator of the crime
“Baiano” had already attacked his partner, who had a protective measure against him. Footage shows him hitting Lidiane in September this year. At the time, he was arrested, then released. The perpetrator also has a history of domestic violence against other victims.
A few days before the crime that resulted in the victim’s death, on December 12, 2025, Leandro was found guilty of battery in the context of domestic violence, in a case currently being processed in the Taguatinga Domestic and Family Violence Against Women Court. The sentence sets a sentence of 2 years and 7 months in prison and 5 months of detention, in addition to the maintenance of urgent protective measures. However, the preventive detention was revoked. Leandro was released a few days before cruelly killing Lidiane.
