Fabinho Soldado released a farewell video to the Corinthians on Wednesday evening. The club officially announced on Tuesday that he would not retain his role as director of football. He should conclude with Internacional.
In the publication, Soldado is among the Paulistão and Copa do Brasil cups, achievements of the Corinthians in 2025. He mentions President Osmar Stábile, who would have fired him under pressure from his advisors. The former coach also mentions the players and Dorival Júnior, with whom he had a good relationship.
“I am here to thank you, with a heart full of pride and gratitude, for everything I experienced with you. For all the encouragement, all the affection that you gave us to help us win these two cups,” he began.
“I would like to especially thank our president Osmar (Stábile) for all the support he has given us, as well as our teacher Dorival Júnior, his technical committee, who helped us achieve the long-awaited title. I thank the Corinthians technical committee, who made our dream possible, and to all the Corinthians employees who worked daily to make this possible,” he added.
“And of course, the athletes. Those with whom, every day, we exchanged a lot of things, it was a very great involvement. I leave here my gratitude, because you have made my dream and that of the fans come true with these two achievements,” he concluded.
Still on the Maracanã pitch, after Corinthians beat Vasco 2-1 and became quadruple champions of the Copa do Brasil, the current former manager of the black and white team spoke in a farewell tone and expressed his discomfort with the political situation at the club.
“It seems that professionalism is still something that bothers. I think that’s the right word, I think that professionalism still bothers. While the world is, all the other clubs, you look at the practice of the big clubs that lead the championships, investing more and more in professionalism, in professionals, in training, in technology, in improving the CT,” Fabinho said.
Fabinho Soldado arrived at Corinthians at the start of Augusto Melo’s controversial government and continued in the role even after the president-elect’s dismissal. Supported by the team, he was always presented by the players as responsible for not letting the political crisis reach the locker room.
In the market, he was responsible for positively and negatively evaluated hires. He participated in the reconstruction of the squad in the middle of last year, notably with the arrival of Hugo Souza, with whom he had already worked at Flamengo.
