The Official College of Nurses of Cordoba, in collaboration with the Red Cross, launched the campaign “Your well-being matters”a solidarity initiative that began on December 23 in the capital Cordoba and is developing simultaneously … in 36 other Spanish provinces. The action is organized at the national level by the NGO Solidarité Infirmière, of the General Council of Nurses (CGE), in collaboration with the Spanish Red Cross.
The objective of this campaign is to transmit to homeless people clear and accessible messages of health and personal carewith the intention of becoming a real “lever of change” which contributes to improving their vulnerable situation. To this end, in addition to health information, the dissemination of hygiene kits and warm clothing suitable for low temperatures.
During the first outing in Cordoba, almost a hundred kits in different neighborhoods of the city, thanks to the involvement of several nurses and volunteers from the Social Emergency Unit (UES) of the Red Cross. In addition to the materials, those served received a card, written in several languages, with the campaign slogan and a QR code giving access to a list of videos with health guidelines hosted on Canal Enfermero, the official CGE channel on YouTube.
These informative videos, recorded by nursing professionals, provide simple and practical recommendations for skin care, proper food storage or action in the event of a health emergency. They also include essential information about vaccination, where you can receive it and which healthcare professionals to turn to for help.
The kits distributed contain basic items such as toothbrushes, shampoo or moisturizerin addition to thermal t-shirts and pants, hats and socks, in order to cover immediate hygiene and protection against the cold needs.
The distribution was carried out in one of the two weekly departures that the Red Cross UES carries out in the streets of Córdoba, where food, hot drinks and, above all, human support are offered to the homeless, thus strengthening a network of care that places health and dignity at the center.
