This Nochebuena in Madrid gave rise to three serious incidents, according to Emergencias Madrid. Among them there were fatal victims and bladed weapons were involved: a 17-year-old young man died this morning in the Puente de Vallecas neighborhood due to a chest injury and shortly after, a 63-year-old man died with several wounds in Chamberí. There was also an accident on the M-31 highway which left a heavy legacy.
The first incident occurred at 2 p.m., when Emergencias Madrid received a warning from a 17-year-old young man of Spanish origin who was in cardiorespiratory arrest following an attack with a white gun on the left hemithorax, according to a Samur spokesperson. This happened on Lagartera Street, in Puente de Vallecas and it was the National Police who first arrived there. Officers began CPR until Samur arrived, leading the victim to perform a thoracotomy, a procedure that involves opening the chest and massaging the heart directly with the hands.
Despite their efforts, the cardiorespiratory arrest could not be reversed and the health authorities confirmed the death of the victim. A psychologist took care of a family member who arrived on site.
The national police are investigating these crimes. The agents do not exclude that there could be a fight between gangs of minors, even if there is still no confirmation of any hypothesis.
The other deadly incident also occurred this morning, at 5:40 a.m., on Alonso Cano Street, in the Chamberí neighborhood. Some people walking on the street found themselves in the ground with a 63-year-old man – of Bolivian origin, as police confirmed – with several heirlooms in his body. When Samur employees arrived, he found himself in cardiorespiratory arrest and after 40 minutes of advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation, he could only declare his death.
The National Police are also investigating this incident, which confirms the presence of a bladed weapon. There are still no hypotheses about what could trigger these events.
