The story took place this weekend in San Sebastian and reflects how traditional business lunches or dinners can go to extremes. As shown Basque newspaper25 French people came to celebrate Christmas in a steakhouse in Donostia. That’s where it all started.
“They were drinking and singing all the time and I told them several times to tone it down. The problem must have really started when they were already outside,” the owner of the establishment told the aforementioned media outlet. The storm appeared to dissipate a few hours later, when security forces received a call from the Joséan Gasca municipal sports center. Apparently a group of French people were causing trouble, trying to sneak into a game and confronting people.. The incidents were repeated and the arrests piled up.
The balance of Christmas meals left 7 Gauls arrested, including the head of the companyand the Ertzaintza escorted the remaining guests until they left Spanish soil and headed towards Hendaye.
