The Generalitat firefighters had to evacuate 53 people last night due to a fire in a sauna in a large hotel in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat (Barcelona). As reported by the Fire Department, the notice was received at 8:56 p.m. yesterday, Wednesday, to alert of an incident in a large hotel located on rue des Ciències de L’Hospitalet, where the fire alarm went off and smoke appeared on the ground floor, the origin of which was unknown.
Some hotel guests left the facility due to the smoke and eight fire crews responded to the scene, where they were able to determine that the origin of the smoke was the saunas of the plant minus one.
After containing the fire, they checked for hot spots that could reignite the fire, while members of the fire department and the emergency medical system (EMS) tended to hotel guests who were in their rooms or in the aquatic facilities. A person required the attention of an EMS, 53 people were evacuated and five confined to their rooms.
