The world of gymnastics was surprised, Wednesday (24/12), by the news of the premature death of Brazilian gymnastics champion, Isabelle Marciniak, aged only 18. The young woman, who was being treated for Hodgkin’s lymphoma, saw her death confirmed on Wednesday morning (24/12) by the Pará Gymnastics Federation.
But who was she? The athlete, born in Araucária, also in Paraná, was considered a “jewel” of sport and stopped devoting herself to training and competitions due to treatment for cancer.

At the age of 14, in 2021, the gymnast won the Ilona Peuker Brazilian Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship, in Florianópolis. Confirmation of death
According to the Curitiba obituary, published by the City Hall, the former athlete died at the Nossa Senhora das Graças Hospital: “With great regret, the Paraná Gymnastics Federation receives the news of the death of former gymnast Isabelle Marciniak. Isabelle was part of the history of Club Agir, where she built important achievements and shone in Paraná and at the Brazilian Championships”, the text states.

Still according to the institution, the burial took place in the chapel of the Jardim Independência cemetery, in Araucária: “Among her latest achievements, the title of champion with the adult trio of Clube Agir stands out, in 2023, the result of her commitment and team spirit.
“May your story, your passion for sport and your memory remain alive as a source of inspiration for all those who believe in gymnastics as a tool for training and human transformation. Our condolences. Rest in peace,” he concluded.
