Surfer Rodrigo Koxa could once again hold the record for the biggest wave ever surfed in history. The Brazilian found himself facing a wall approximately 30 meters high. For comparison, the size is close to a 10-story building. The feat was recorded last Friday (12/19) in Praia do Norte, in Nazaré, Portugal.

The first measurement shows that the wave measured 29.15 m. But to confirm the new record, the Guinness Book team must mark it.
The current record belongs to German Sebastian Steudtner, who reached 26.21 meters in 2020. When he became the record holder, Steudtner surpassed Koxa himself, who had held this mark since 2018.
With the wave surfed in Nazaré, the Brazilian still appears as one of the favorites to win the Big Wave Challenge, an annual award for giant waves.
The surfing highlight can still be won by Michelle de Boullions from Rio. The Brazilian can also break the women’s record at the WSL Big Wave Surfing, also held in December.
