The São Paulo court transformed into a preventive measure the temporary arrest of Leorogers Andrade da Costa, 29, accused of knocking down his ex-wife and killing a traffic policeman who tried to help the victim in Jardim Ipê, in Mauá, Greater São Paulo.
The man was arrested in flagrante delicto last Monday (22/12).
He had kidnapped the 28-year-old woman, who tried to escape by jumping from the moving vehicle on Rodoanel, in São Vicente park. She went to traffic policeman Nelson Nonato da Silva for help.
Leorogers then accelerated the car and ran over them both. Nelson ended up being thrown from the top of the viaduct and onto Avenida Papa João XXIII.

According to the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP), the attacking driver fled on foot, but was found by military police a few hours later.
What happened
- Traffic policeman Nelson Nonato da Silva died this Monday (22/12) after being knocked down and thrown from the Rodoanel while helping a woman victim of domestic violence, around 11:30 a.m., on Avenida Papa João XXIII, Mauá.
- According to the São Paulo Public Security Secretary, the man, identified as Leorogers Andrade da Costa, kidnapped his ex-wife.
- In an attempt to escape, she jumped out of the moving car and went to the traffic policeman for help.
- Leorogers then accelerated the vehicle and ran over both men. Nelson was thrown from the viaduct and died instantly after falling on Avenida Papa João XXIII.
- The driver abandoned the car and fled.
- The woman was rescued in serious condition by SAMU and transported to the Santo André Municipal Hospital Center.
Still according to the SSP, Leorogers was charged with murder and attempted femicide in the 1st DP of Mauá.
