According to an investigation by the State Civil Defense, the city of São Paulo recorded, this Thursday (12/25), a new heat record in 2025 and the highest temperature for a day in December in the last 64 years.
The maximum reached 35.9°C at 4 p.m., as measured by the Mirante de Santana meteorological station, maintained by the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet).

According to available historical series, this is the highest temperature recorded for the month of December since 1998 and, considering data since 1961, it exceeds the maximum of 35.6°C observed on December 3 of this year.
Faced with high temperatures, Civil Defense advises the population to adopt health protection measures, such as staying hydrated, avoiding exposure to the sun during the hottest hours of the day and taking particular care of children, the elderly and people with chronic illnesses.
