At least two people were killed and a third injured in an attack that Israeli police described as “terrorist” on Friday, December 26, 2025. A Palestinian from the West Bank is said to have run over a man in the city of Beit Shean. A few kilometers later he stabbed a young woman.
The two victims died as a result of their injuries, said Magen David Adom (MDA), the Israeli equivalent of the Red Cross. “The preliminary investigation suggests that this is a terrorist attack that began in the city of Beit Shean, where a pedestrian was run over. Subsequently, a young woman was stabbed near Highway 71,” a police statement said.
Attacker taken to hospital
Israeli emergency teams provided medical care and unsuccessfully resuscitated the 68-year-old man who was run over. Ultimately, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
A few kilometers away, at the intersection of Highway 71 near Kibbutz Ein Harod, a young woman was declared dead after suffering serious injuries from a stab wound, according to the MDA and preliminary police investigations.
The suspected attacker was shot several times by a civilian passerby near the Maonot border crossing in Afula, a town about 25 kilometers from Beit Shean, and was evacuated to hospital, where he remains hospitalized.
