
Teams from the 25th BPM (Cabo Frio) and the Anti-Kidnapping Police Station (DAS) freed a 76-year-old man who was held captive, Thursday evening, in the Botafogo neighborhood, in Cabo Frio, Lagos region, Rio. Officers arrested two suspects in the kidnapping: José Carlos Siqueira David da Silva, 51, and his son, Carlos Gabriel dos Santos, 27.

According to police, the victim had been friends with José Carlos for 20 years and had been lured to him under the pretext of transporting him. Upon entering the suspect’s residence, the elderly man was delivered by him and his son. The two men attacked the victim with fists and covered his head with a plastic bag. They also threatened to kill the old man.
To free the victim, the father and son demanded, according to the police, the payment of R$60,000. During the kidnapping, they took R$400 from the old man and tried to make transfers through Pix worth R$7,000, which were blocked by the bank.
around 10 p.m. this Thursday, the agents broke the captivity and located the victim locked alone in a room.
The father and son were taken to DAS headquarters and charged with the crime of extortion by kidnapping. Both men will be held at the disposal of the court.
