After two consecutive days of record heat, temperatures in São Paulo are expected to drop slightly this Saturday (27/12), but the maximums will remain above 30°C. According to forecasts, thermometers will record a minimum of 21°C and a maximum of 33°C on the last Saturday of the year.
The day will be sunny, with some clouds, but rapid rain is expected to fall over the city in the afternoon and evening. According to the Emergency Management Center (CGE), the rain could be heavy. The air humidity level will be between 40 and 90%.
December so far has seen less than expected rainfall, worsening the situation for the water sources that supply the city.

According to the CGE, December has accumulated 138.4mm of rain so far, which is about 75.1% of the 184.2mm expected for the month.
The Cantareira system has only 20.4% of its volume supplied, a level lower than that recorded on the eve of the water crisis that devastated the state over the last decade.
The quantity of water entering the Cantareira system represents 40% of the historical average for the month of December (20 m³/s, out of a total of 50 m³/s expected).
To avoid a new crisis, Sabesp reduced the pressure of water delivered to the population at night. However, in several neighborhoods of the city, part of the population is already complaining of dry taps, even during the day, in the middle of summer.

Sabesp claims that water consumption has seen increases of up to 60% in some areas of the metropolitan region, which would contribute to worsening the supply situation.
Lack of rain and supply problems have led the state government to reinforce the call for “conscious use” of water in recent days. The Integrated Metropolitan System (SIM), which covers the seven water sources and is responsible for supplying Greater São Paulo, is currently operating with 26.42% of its storage capacity.
