Former first lady Michelle Bolsonaro reported this Saturday afternoon that former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) underwent a new medical procedure to treat hiccups. The update came after Bolsonaro underwent surgery on Thursday (25) to remove two hernias.
According to Michelle, Bolsonaro went to the operating room to perform a “phrenic nerve block.” The nerve is responsible for controlling the diaphragm and, with its irritation, an involuntary contraction of the muscle occurs, known as hiccups.
Michelle asked for prayers. “It’s been nine months of struggle and anguish with daily failures.” Also on social media, around 4 p.m., she said that the operation had taken place without complications and that Bolsonaro would remain under observation for 30 minutes.
