A day after the attempted escape of the former director of the Federal Highway Police (PRF), Silvinei Vasques, the Federal Police (PF) issued ten house arrest warrants, using an electronic ankle bracelet, against other people convicted of the coup plot.
The measures, authorized by Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Supreme Federal Court (STF), affect the accused of groups 2, 3 and 4 of the coup attempt.
According to the PF, the arrest warrants are being executed in the states of Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Espírito Santo, Paraná, Goiás, Bahia, Tocantins and in the Federal District. Still according to the PF, the Brazilian army is participating in the investigations. See the targets of the operation:

In addition to house arrest, precautionary measures were imposed such as banning the use of social media, contact with other people under investigation, surrender of passports, suspension of firearms possession documents and ban on visits.
Silvinei’s escape attempt
Silvinei Vasques had been under electronic surveillance since August 2024, when he was released from pretrial detention. This month, the former PRF director was sentenced by the STF to 24 years and six months in prison.
In the early hours of Friday the 26th, Vasques was arrested in Paraguay as part of an escape attempt. The former director intended to arrive in El Salvador, passing through Panama, but was intercepted by Paraguayan authorities for false declaration.
The denunciation of the coup plot was divided into sections
The Attorney General’s Office (PGR) complaint against the coup plot was divided into action groups. This division emerged from the PF investigation and was adopted by the Prosecutor’s Office to speed up the trial of criminal actions.
Former President Jair Bolsonaro was part of the main group of defendants, “Core 1,” also known as the “Crucial Core,” made up of people in command positions, such as ministers of state and high-ranking military personnel.
Core 2 was accused of “operationalizing” the coup attempt. Core 2 includes, among others, former PRF director Silvinei Vasques and former Bolsonaro advisor Filipe Martins.
Core 3 was accused of forming a “counterespionage center” for the coup; Core 4, finally, responded by spreading disinformation against the electoral system and institutions.
