Russian forces attacked a major thermal power plant in the southern Ukrainian city of Kherson, causing “significant damage” to the facilities, state oil and gas company Naftogaz said on Sunday.
In a statement, Naftogaz said an employee was injured in the latest Russian attack on the facility, which the company said provided heating for tens of thousands of homes in Kherson.
The city has come under increasingly intense attacks with Russian drones, missiles and bombs in recent months.
Earlier, Ukrainian armed forces announced that they attacked the Syzran oil refinery in Russia’s Samara region early in the morning.
