According to the organization of the event, Barcelona received eight awards at the recent edition of the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai, cementing a prominent role at the ceremony. According to the information published by various media and collected by the agency that organized the gala, the Catalan team received recognition for both its male and female staff, as well as for some of its main references. Among the most notable names were Lamine Yamal and Aitana Bonmatí, who added new individual awards to their sporting careers. The ceremony also honored international personalities such as tennis player Novak Djokovic and former soccer player Andrés Iniesta.
During the day at Atlantis The Royal, the Catalan company presented a total of eight trophies linked to different departments and protagonists of the club, in the presence of club president Joan Laporta, players and board members. Laporta attended the awards ceremony alongside Lamine Yamal, Alejandro Balde and directors Xavier Puig and Joan Soler, adding to the striking “Azulgrana” color at the gala. According to the organizing agency, FC Barcelona Women captain Aitana Bonmatí received an individual award for the third time in a row: the midfielder thus completed a season already blessed with awards such as the Ballon d’Or and The Best, confirming her central position in the team.
During his speech, Laporta said: “I am proud to be President of FC Barcelona. We are a reference in the world of women’s football. This award is a way to promote all players,” according to statements collected by the organization. This milestone underlines the importance of the women’s division in the awards, with FC Barcelona Women receiving joint recognition for the third year in a row.
In the men’s area, the gala recognized the work done last season. Raphinha received the award as the best player in LaLiga 2024/25. The Brazilian attacker said during the ceremony: “I am very happy to receive this award and the recognition for the work I have done. It has been a spectacular season. But none of it would be possible without my family, the Barça coaching staff, my teammates and Barça, the Barça fans and the league,” reads the speech quoted at the event.
Coach Hansi Flick, who achieved the domestic treble in his first year in charge of the Catalan club, was named LaLiga’s best coach. Laporta remarked about the German coach’s award: “Hansi showed a winning spirit and we were able to win a highly competitive league; the standard of our players was spectacular,” said the Globe Soccer Awards organization.
Lamine Yamal became one of the most statistically relevant protagonists of the evening. The number 10 player was named best U23 player and best striker of the season and received the Maradona Award for the most outstanding goal. During his speech, he noted: “Now I feel more pressure to be an important player for my club, but everything went well. I want to continue on my path and not compare myself with other footballers,” said the screening agency for the event. Lamine shared the stage with Andrés Iniesta, who was honored for his professional career.
The awards given to the members and teams of FC Barcelona represented a recognition of the achievements achieved in the previous cycle, in which the club won titles and raised the international profile in both men’s and women’s football, as evidenced by the Gala’s record.
The ceremony also honored personalities from outside the Catalan club. From the hands of Cristiano Ronaldo, Novak Djokovic received a special award for his career in world tennis, while Andrés Iniesta received a tribute for his career on the pitch.
Also present in the evening in Dubai were PSG, who received the award as the best team of the season after winning the last Champions League. The French institution also added individual awards, according to the organization of the event, including Ousmane Dembélé, Vitinha, Désiré Doudé and Spanish coach Luis Enrique Martínez.
According to the organizers of the Globe Soccer Awards, the gala demonstrated the international relevance of both the teams and the individual athletes and, in particular, the consolidation of FC Barcelona with a massive presence that was reflected in the main awards presented.
