Lamine Yamal was recognized with a new relevant award in the world of football. During the Globe Soccer 2025 ceremony, The young Barça star received the Maradona Prizeas well as that of best striker, even if in the category of best player, he once again finds himself below Ousmane Dembélé.
The Barcelona striker received the Maradona Award for young player with more skill, talent and magic with the ballas well as the award for best striker and, in his words of gratitude, he recalled the new responsibilities he assumes within the Barça team.
“I think last year it was the kid who just came in and Now I have the pressure to be an important player. Thank God everything went well,” he said.
Additionally, he was clear when asked what his reference was: “It’s better not to compare yourself to anyone. Players like Cristiano were who they are because they didn’t compare themselves to anyone and wanted to be themselves”.
Likewise, he noted that only his mother “runs” his household and thanked his family and friends for his successes. “All individual and collective rewards are an honor. Now, we must continue to work to bring more,” he concluded.
Recognition of the best player was obtained by Ousmané Dembéléwho surpassed Kylian Mbappé (Real Madrid), Lamine Yamal and Raphinha (Barcelona) and his teammate Vitinha. The French footballer received the award and was succinct in his words: “When everything doesn’t go the way you want, you have to work hard. That’s what we did.”
