Flamengo continue to keep tabs on Cruzeiro striker Kaio Jorge, but negotiations for the player have yet to progress. In an interview with Itatiaia this Sunday (28), Pedro Lourenço, SAF manager of the Minas Gerais club, said that Rubro-Negro’s initial proposal, of 30 million euros (around R$195 million), does not correspond to the values desired by Cruzeiro.
According to Lourenço, the club has set a minimum value for the sale of the striker: 50 million euros. “Flamengo made a proposal and we made another. The proposal made by Flamengo does not satisfy us. To sell Kaio, we want 50 million euros. This is our price“said the leader.
The value offered by Flamengo is close to that stipulated by Cruzeiro, but is still far from the Brazilian market, which demands a higher return for the center forward. The negotiation had already been initially reported by ESPN, which revealed the Rio club’s interest in the player.
Still according to ESPN, Flamengo is studying the reformulation of the offer, including Everton striker Cebolinha plus 22 million euros (around 143 million reais) to try to convince Cruzeiro to release Kaio Jorge. Negotiations are expected to continue in the coming days, with both sides seeking an agreement that satisfies clubs and players.
