
Indonesian authorities reported the discovery lifeless body of Andrea Ortuño’s daughterSurvivor of the shipwreck that occurred on Friday in Indonesia, a source from the Indonesian rescue agency Basarnas confirmed to EFE. This is one of the Spanish minors who was traveling with her family on the sunken boat in Labuan Bajo in Komodo National Park.
The family who was on vacation in Indonesia suffered a shipwreck last Friday and four of its members disappeared. Indonesia’s Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has stated that the sinking was likely due to strong waves caused by adverse weather conditions. According to local authorities, the boat’s engine lost power before it was hit by the waves and began to sink.
The three remaining missing are Fernando Martín, former football player and Coach of the Valencia CF women’s B team; and two minors: a son of Martín and another child of Andrea Ortuño, who was recently married to Martín.
“The joint search and rescue team has found a body believed to be a victim of the sinking of the motorboat Putri Sakinah in waters near Padar Island, Labuan Bajo (in East Nusa Tenggara province),” the Indonesian search and rescue agency said on Facebook.
Subsequently, the facility stated that the body was transferred to the Komodo Regional Hospital for forensic identification, while “the victim’s family accompanied the process of medical confirmation of the identity” of the victim.
The head of the Maumere office and coordinator of the operation, Fathur Rahman, stated that the body was found “approximately one nautical mile from where the ship is believed to have sunk.”
In return and in the same spirit, the head of the Sub-Directorate of Operations of the same office, Asfan Dulhasan, indicated in statements collected by the Antara news agency that the body was “a little girl, about twelve years old.”
The discovery was made by local residents who reported the find to the joint search and rescue team on the first day authorities expanded the search area.
In this context, Dulhasan has explained that the search and rescue team continues to search for the victims of the sunken ship and that these operations will continue throughout the week, while three people are still missing, the B coach of Valencia CF Femenino, Fernando Martín (44), and two other minors, a son of Martín himself and another of his partner, Andrea Ortuño, who were rescued along with another of his daughters.
