Among the country’s 216 most wanted criminals, only four are women. The data attracts attention and opens the list published by the National Secretariat of Public Security (Senasp), which brings together the names considered priority for capture throughout the national territory. Among hundreds of very dangerous fugitives, the female presence is an exception and reveals an unusual profile in the world of organized and violent crime in Brazil.
The four women who appear in the investigation are Carolina Gomes de Brito (MT), Marítssa Ingridy da Silva Rodrigues (MT), Deuzirene Cardoso Silva (RR), Yasmin Loranne Oliveira Santos (TO). This relationship is part of the Capture Program, a recent project coordinated by Senasp, which has as one of its main tools the official website of the Federal Government to identify and locate the most wanted people in the country, organized by state and alphabetical order.

Although the list is dominated by men, including names of great national significance, such as André Oliveira Macedo, André do Rap — designated as an intermediary in the shipment of tons of cocaine to Europe and Africa —, Edgar Alves de Andrade, Doca, main leader of the Comando Vermelho of the Complexo da Penha (RJ), and Bernardo Bello, accused of being the intellectual mastermind behind the death of the criminal Alcebíades Paes Garcia, Bid — the small number of women raised awareness from authorities and experts.
Portrait of crime
According to Senasp, all names listed represent some level of dangerousness, whether it be involvement in drug trafficking, violent crime, criminal organizations or property crimes. However, the fact that only four women are among the 216 most wanted people reinforces a historical trend: the most visible and impactful crime remains predominantly male.
Who are the most wanted criminals:
Caroline Gomes de Brito (MT)
- Carolina was convicted of robbery in 2019, according to a decision by the Mato Grosso Justice Court (TJMT). In doing so, she and her associates were held responsible for crimes against property in a formal competition, characterized by Article 157 of the Penal Code.
- Cases of this type, records show, typically involve the theft of vehicles, money, electronic devices and personal effects, often by threat or violence, when approaching victims on public roads or in commercial establishments.
Marítssa Ingridy da Silva Rodrigues (MT)
- Known by the nicknames Jheny, Rapunzel and Maribomba, Marítssa is identified by the Mato Grosso Civil Police as one of the leaders of drug trafficking in the municipality of Sorriso.
- The investigation reveals that she had taken control of the distribution of narcotics in the region alongside Dandara Solana Fontinelles Ferreira and another woman, arrested later, after the capture of her then companions. The group is said to have reorganized its criminal activity, maintaining supplies and logistics for local trafficking.
Deuzirene Cardoso Silva (RR)
- Deuzirene was the subject of preventive detention ordered in 2011 for alleged omission in the face of sexual abuse committed by his partner on a minor. According to information published in the Roraima State Judicial Gazette, Hudson da Silva allegedly abused his own 11-year-old daughter.
- The accusation against Deuzirene refers to the lack of action to prevent the crime, which motivated the action of the judiciary.
Yasmin Loranne Oliveira Santos (TO)
- Yasmin Loranne became the target of justice after a complaint from the prosecution for drug trafficking and drug trafficking association. The case is currently being processed at the 3rd Criminal Court of Palmas, where she is accused in the same case as Matheus Costa, named as her associate.
- According to the prosecution, both were part of a structure focused on the sale of narcotics.
Capture program
The Capture program aims to intensify cooperation between states, police forces and the population, by facilitating access to information on high priority fugitives. The full list can be viewed on the official government website and reports can be made anonymously.
Even though the absolute majority of names remain masculine, the focus on the four women shows that, although few in number, they also occupy important positions in different types of crime, from drug trafficking to property crimes.
Authorities hope widespread publicity will help locate and arrest fugitives, strengthening the fight against crime across the country.
