
The government has expanded The budget for the Moves III helpline is 73.5 million eurosintended to promote the purchase of electric vehicles and installation of charging stations. As indicated in a press release, the increase will make it possible to respond to all applications remaining on the waiting list due to lack of funds as well as those which will be presented until the closing of the call, scheduled for December 31.
With this expansion, the total budget of the line in Catalonia increases from 62 to 135 million euros. This action is part of the new allocation of 400 million euros recently announced by the Spanish government to reduce waiting lists.
To date, the vehicle acquisition assistance line, endowed with 34.3 million, has received almost 20,000 applications for an amount of 95.5 million euros. Of these, only 6,200 were granted. Concerning the charging stations, the line had 25 million euros and received more than 9,100 requests, for a total of 26 million.
In total, the Catalan Institute of Energy (ICAEN) received more than 26,000 files related to this call. Likewise, the program contributed to the acquisition of 35,250 vehicles and the installation of 23,800 charging stationsmobilizing an investment of more than 900 million euros.
The action is part of the “Pla d’Impuls al Vehicle Elèctric 2025-2030”, promoted by the government and whose aim is accelerate the implementation of the electrified car in Cataloniareaching 180,000 new registrations of electrified vehicles, the creation of 9,000 new points and the saving of 470,000 tonnes of CO₂. In total, the Government plans to mobilize 1.4 billion euros in this program.
