The Civil Guard is investigating this morning the theft of the safe that was anchored in the “Gift Truck” parked at the Leo Complex in Monesterio (Badajoz).
Hooded people stole this box which contained money, more than 65,000 euros from this month’s ticket sales, and around 2,000 ballot papers.
The criminal act is currently being investigated to find its perpetrators.
What is “The Gift Truck”?
The initiative installed in the border area between the provinces of Badajoz and Huelva, on the A-66 highway, has been underway for years and has become an attraction for the thousands of travelers who stop because many prizes, including high-end cars and motorcycles, are visible in the facility located outside the complex.
The promoters claim that it is the “basket with the biggest prize in Spain”, which is drawn every January 6. Each ticket costs seven euros.
The truck is valued at 300,000 euros and contains a Ferrari 458 Italia, motorcycles, €60,000 in gold, trips to New York and Disneyland, consoles and household appliances, among other things.
