Flamengo supporters will spend New Year’s Eve in peace thanks to the renewal of coach Filipe Luís’ contract. The former left-back signed with Rubro-Negro until December 2027. On social networks, supporters of the red and black club went crazy over the news.
“How can my end of the year depend on a paper signed by a man. Today I am happy,” said former BBB Artur Picoli. “Now yes, Happy New Year,” another fan wrote. “Please don’t do this to our hearts again! You saved my Lion King,” another described. “Now my loves, nothing can shake me,” celebrated a third.

Despite a post in collaboration with Flamengo, the coach has not yet commented on social networks. On the other hand, José Boto, the executive director of the club, commented on the renewal of the contract.
“The positive result was only possible because there was, on both sides, a real desire to continue the project, in addition to the common desire to converge interests and build a balanced and lasting agreement, which would respond to the wishes of the coach, but also to the club governance policies established by the BAP (Luiz Eduardo Baptista, president of Flamengo).”
According to the club, “the revival symbolizes the continuity of a long history between Filipe Luís and Flamengo. Red and black since his childhood, the coach built a deep emotional relationship with the club, which was strengthened on the field, when he defended Manto as a player, and which continues today on the sidelines of the field, leading the team during one of the most successful periods in its history”, he described.
