THE Municipal police denounced a person as an alleged perpetrator of an industrial property crime, after seizing more than 2,600 allegedly counterfeit items of clothing during a security check carried out as part of the Special Christmas Campaign.
THE … the events occurred around 3:45 p.m. last Sunday, during a preventive control of vehicles and people established on Avenida Real Valladolid. During the operation, the agents identified the driver of a van, born in 1981, the municipality said in a press release.
Asked about the merchandise he was transporting, the driver showed the contents of the vehicle, which contained numerous clothing items from recognized brands. The owner of the van reported that these were counterfeit products and that the rest of the boxes contained goods with similar characteristics.
Given these facts, the officers proceeded to empty and check the entire load, to confirm that it was allegedly counterfeit clothing. It is for this reason that the agents prepared the corresponding report for an alleged crime against industrial property.
A total of 2,609 counterfeit garments of different registered brands were seized, which were deposited in municipal offices to continue the necessary steps to clarify the facts. Likewise, 1,733 euros in banknotes and coins were seized, which were made available to the judicial authority.
